Teaching Timbuktu

VFOM brings Mali to your classroom, festival, conference, meeting or event. We can bring a wide range of materials, artifacts, lesson plans and activities suitable for students, parents and teachers. We have even published our first bi-lingual book, Djita, a Malian girl from Virginia (click on cover image for more information), and have another on its way.

VFOM members are Americans, Malians and Africans from other nations as well as educators, musicians, artists, writers, filmmakers, barbers, students, city counselors, biochemists, accountants, psychologists, activists, entrepreneurs, ambassadors, health workers, engineers, youth and elder. We have traveled to Mali, lived or worked in Mali, taught in Mali, made friends and even become families in Mali.
